"Lavender is nowhere near this big! No one wants to live there because of the Pokémon Tower."
"C'mon. Curfew is in half an hour. Theres a Pokémon center there where we can spend the night." I lead Jake to the Pokémon center near the middle of Cerulean. Popping Max into his Pokéball, we went in. "Hi, Joy," I said to the familiar friend who greeted us.
"Hi there Amie. How is it going? Bill called and said you had just started your Pokémon journey."
"Yeah. Hey, can you heal my Pokémon for me?" I asked, handing her my three full Pokéballs.
"Mine too," Jake handed four Pokéballs to Joy.
"Sure. Now its almost curfew, so you two better get some sleep," Joy shooed us into the bunk rooms.
I woke up to a beautiful, sunny morning. I jumped off the top bunk and put on my shoes and socks and tied up my hair. "Wake up, sleepyhead," I called to Jake, then went into the waiting room to see if my Pokémon were ready.
"Hi, Amie. You and Jake's Pokémon are all healed. There's a great little restaurant around the corner thats got great waffles. Will you be going to the Cerulean Gym today?" Joy was rather cheerful today. But wasn't she always?
"Cerulean Gym. Never heard of it," Jake said, walking up behind me.
"Actually, now that you mentioned it, I remember hearing something about a new Gym starting to be built last time I was here. I didn't expect them to have it up this fast."
"Come on. Lets get some breakfast then we'll see about that gym."
After breakfast, Jake and I headed to the new Gym, only to be greeted with a strange suprise. "Swimming show? Diving exhibit? Cerulean Sisters? I thought this was a Pokémon Gym, not a performance pool," I said, looking at the crowd of people gathered beneath a huge banner announcing the show.
"Well, it is. But me and my sisters also do a show here," three girls in bathing suits had walked up behind us.
"Well, we're only interested in the Pokémon part of that equation. How about a battle," I challenged.
"Cool down. We'll battle you after the show. You can watch it if you like."
"We'll be happy to watch it. I could watch you all day long. How about an autograph," Jake was drooling and had hearts for eyes.
"C'mon, Jake," I pulled him along. We purchased tickets and watched the show. After the show, we headed down for our promised battle. "You can go first, Jake," I told the lovestruck bump beside me.
"Yeah. Gotta beat the pretty ladies. (Drool drool)"
"All right. Its going to be a two on two battle. You must defeat both of our Pokémon to get the Cascadebadge," Daisy explained, pointing to the pool with several floating platforms in it.
"Okay. Go, Bulbasaur," Jake threw a Pokéball revealing a blue dinosaur with a green bulb on its back.
"If thats the way you want to play, then go, Tentacool." one of Daisy's sisters threw out a Pokéball revealing a poisinous jellyfish. I watched as Bulbasaur and Tentacool dodged each others attacks time and time again.
"All right, its time to finish off that jellyfish," Jake yelled, "Bulbasaur, leech seed, NOW!" Bulbasaur launched a seed towards Tentacool, draining the energy from the jellyfish.
"Good. But you cant best this Pokémon," Daisy threw out a Pokéball revealing the seahorse Pokémon, Horsea. Horsea was good. But Jake knew how to pick his Pokémon, because Bulbasaur KOed Horsea.
"Oh no, Horsea. You beat us fair and square. Here's the Cascadebadge as proof of your victory," Daisy handed Jake a small raindropped-shaped badge.
"Yes! My first badge!" Jake yelled, seizing his accomplishment.
"All right. My turn," I stood up, mentally picking my Pokémon as I did. "Go, Nidoran!" I threw Nidoran's special Pokéball onto one of the platforms.
"Okay. Go, Poliwag," the third of the Cerulean Sisters threw her Pokéball into the water, releasing a tadpole with a spiral on its belly.
"Nidoran, tackle now!" Nidoran ran towards Poliwag, but Poliwag dived underwater, and Nidoran was forced to a sudden stop at the edge of the platform. "No! Nidoran doesnt like water," I realized my mistake.
"Poliwag, water gun," Poliwag came up behind Nidoran and sprayed him with a strong jet of water, pushing him in.
"Return, Nidoran," The red beam of energy returned Nidoran to its Pokéball. "I hate to have to use you like this, but youre my only hope. Go, Mew!" I released the newest member of my team, Mew. Everyone else just stood there slightly stunned. Okay, Mew, what attacks do you have? I thought to myself. Pound, transform, and mega punch the thoughts just popped up in my head. "Pound!" I called. Mew jumped feet-first at the Poliwag so fast it barely had time to react. "Get it onto the platforms where you'll have the advantage," I suggested to Mew. Mew dived underwater and pushed the Poliwag onto the closest platform.
"Poliwag, water gun," Poliwag squirted Mew with a stream of water.
"Mew, try that Mega Punch!" I called. Mew's fist seemed to gather some sort of energy around it, then he gave Poliwag a good punch, KOing it. "Way to go, Mew!"
"You think that was good? You haven't seen anything yet. Go, Golduck!" Daisy threw a Pokéball revealing a sleek blue duck. Oh no! Psyducks have to grow to a high level to evolve into a Golduck! I realized.
"Be carefull, Mew!" I warned. "Try your Pound attack again," Mew flew at Golduck so fast he was barely even a blur.
"Golduck, Agility," Golduck swam out of the way just as fast.
Golduck's just as fast as Mew! But what if Mew transformed into Golduck I thought. Mew started to transform even before I could tell it to. Mew began to glow an intense pink color, then his arms and legs became longer and his fingers and toes became webed, and his fuzzy pink snout turned into a hard duck bill. Can Mew read my thoughts? The idea crossed my mind, but I pushed it away because I needed to concentrate on the battle now. I knew Mew's transform attack would allow him to become Golduck, and Golduck had one attack in particular we needed now. Mew stopped glowing because it was a Golduck now.
"Hyper Beam," one of the most powerful attacks, and Daisy knew it. Her Golduck's eyes and the red jewel on its forehead began to glow.
"Huh?! I thought I saw a piece of ceiling fall in the pool," I pointed, just as the roof caved in. *Cough cough* "Who's there?" I called to the three figures in the middle of the dust from the ceiling cave-in.
"Preapare for disaster . . ." a girl with short blond hair pushed forward and wearing tall black boots, long black gloves, a short white skirt, and a white shirt with a big red "R" on it and a black shirt underneath it started.
"Better do it faster . . ." a boy with shoulder length blue hair with white pants, short black boots and gloves, a long sleeved white shirt with a big red "R" on it and a black shirt underneath continued
"To inflict the world with devastation,"
"To control all people in our nation,"
"To denounce the evils of friendship and fun,"
"To extend our reach to all thing under the sun,"
"Cathie,"
"Danny,"
"Team Rocket dives in at the speed of light,"
"Give up now, or we'll have to fight,"
"Persian, thats right!"
"We saw you twirp's Pokémon and decided
we should do some PERMANENT BORROWING! Hahaha!" Cathie Laughed.
"And I wouldn't mess with these guys. They drove those losers Jesse, James, and Meowth out of Team Rocket for good." The Persian said.
"Go, Grimer," Cathie threw her Pokéball.
"Go, Drowsee," Danny threw his Pokéball
"We're going to have to work together to get these creeps out of here," I told Daisy.
"Right. Golduck, Hyper Beam!"
"You too, Mew," I instructed. The pair of Golducks emitted brilliant white beams, sending Grimer and Drowsee into the far wall and KOing them.
"Alright, Mew, now's the time to show me how powerful you really are. Use your Psychic powers!" Mew transformed back and with eyes glowing the same pink as the fiery energy around Team Rocket, lifted up Danny, Cathie, Persian and their Pokémon and sent them flying out the roof.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Cathie, Danny, and Persian all cried at once.
"Great job, Mew! You saved our Pokémon!" Daisy and her sisters congratulated Mew.
"Gol . . . d u c k," [You did great, kid] Golduck thanked Mew, then fainted.
"For beating me and saving our gym and our Pokémon, I present you with the Cascadebadge," Daisy handed me the bright blue Cascadebadge.
"All right Mew! We did it!" I said, holding up the badge.
"You were great," Jake congratulated me.
